1. Who We Are

मन (MANA) is a free, open-source brain-training app developed by Aman Vijay Khanna. The app is published under the MIT License and is available on GitHub at github.com/Khanna-Aman/Mana.

2. What We Collect

मन (MANA) does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. The app has no internet permission in its release build — it is architecturally incapable of sending data to any server.

Optional: Anonymous Local Analytics

During first-time setup, users are asked (with equal-weight Yes/No buttons, default OFF) whether they wish to enable anonymous gameplay statistics. This is entirely optional and can be changed at any time in the app's About screen.

When analytics is ON, the following is stored locally on your device only:

Which games were started, completed, or abandoned
Level reached and session duration
A timestamp (device-local time only)

When analytics is OFF (the default), nothing is recorded at all. Toggling analytics OFF immediately and permanently deletes all previously stored data from the device.

3. What We Never Collect

Your name, email address, phone number, or any account credentials
Device identifiers (IMEI, Android ID, advertising ID)
Location data (coarse or precise)
Camera, microphone, or contacts
Financial or payment information
Biometric data
Keystrokes or clipboard content
Any personally identifiable information of any kind

4. How Data Is Stored

All locally stored data (game scores, preferences, usage time, and optional analytics) is stored in AES-256 encrypted Hive database on your device. The encryption key is managed by the device's secure keystore and is never accessible to us.

User profiles in the app are identified by a randomly generated local ID and a nickname chosen by the user. Nicknames are stored only on-device and are never transmitted.

5. Healthy Play Limits (Usage Tracker)

The app includes a built-in daily play-time tracker that enforces a 30-minute gentle nudge and a 60-minute hard stop per day. This data is stored locally and encrypted. It is never shared.

6. Third-Party Services

NONE मन (MANA) uses zero third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, crash reporting services, or social login providers. There are no Firebase, Google Analytics, Facebook SDK, AdMob, or similar integrations.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA & Families Policy)

मन (MANA) is suitable for all ages, including children under 13. We are fully compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play's Families Policy:

We do not collect personal information from any user, regardless of age
There are no ads, in-app purchases, or social features
Analytics consent is OFF by default and requires an explicit opt-in
No user data ever leaves the device

8. Your Rights & Data Deletion

    All data in मन (MANA) is stored exclusively on your device.
    We hold zero data on any server. You have complete control and can delete everything instantly, at any time.
  

How to delete your data (step by step):

Option A — Delete analytics data only:

Open मन (MANA)
Tap the ℹ️ icon on the home screen to open the About screen
Toggle Anonymous Analytics to OFF
All analytics data is permanently deleted from your device immediately

Option B — Delete a user profile and all its data:

On the user selection screen, tap Switch / Delete Profile
Select the profile you want to remove
Confirm deletion — all scores, preferences, and usage data for that profile are permanently removed

Option C — Delete all app data (nuclear option):

Go to your device Settings → Apps → मन (MANA) → Storage
Tap Clear Data — removes everything instantly
Or simply uninstall the app — all data is permanently gone

What is deleted vs. kept:

Deleted immediately when analytics toggled OFF: all anonymous gameplay events
Deleted when profile removed: game scores, best levels, preferences, usage time for that profile
Deleted on uninstall: everything — no residual data remains anywhere
Nothing is kept by us: we have no servers, no backups, no copies of your data

Retention period:

Data is retained only as long as you keep the app installed and the profile active. There is no minimum retention period. Deletion is immediate and permanent. No data is retained after deletion — we hold nothing server-side.

9. Permissions

The release build of मन (MANA) requests zero Android permissions. It does not request INTERNET, CAMERA, MICROPHONE, LOCATION, CONTACTS, or any other permission.

10. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date. Since no data is collected or transmitted, any changes will relate only to clarifications, not to new data practices.
